The idea here is to build a generic Big Board reflecting the community’s view of this year’s draft class regardless of the Jets’ (or any other team’s) particular needs. So for instance, the Jets do not need a QB this year, but that should not prevent you from placing a QB high on the Big Board. Each day we will close the previous day’s poll and the candidate with the most votes will be added to the GGN Big Board. In the event of a tie vote the tie will be broken by surname in alphabetical order. By the time the draft rolls around we should have enough players on our Big Board to cover two rounds of the draft. In the event I have made an egregious omission and a name you think should be on the poll is not there you can write in candidates in the comments section. If a player gets support in the comments section I’ll add him to the next day’s poll.Try not to get overly frustrated if your guy isn’t being voted to the top of the board. We all have different views and what we’re looking for here is a composite of the best players in the community’s collective mind. Your views may or may not coincide with the community’s, and either way that’s OK.So let’s get to it. Today we vote for the number ten prospect on the 2019 crowd sourced GGN Big Board. Who will it be? Vote early, vote often, and let’s hear who you think are the best players in this draft. The Jets got their second win of 2019 today, defeating the Giants 34-27 at MetLife Stadium. The team’s record is now 2-7. Let’s talk about what went right today. The GoodJamal Adams: Adams’ overall season has been up and down. His play has taken a step back from what we saw a year ago. Today he looked like 2018 Adams. He registered a pair of strip sacks to end Giants drives. On one of them he took the ball out of Daniel Jones’ hands and brought it to the end zone for a touchdown. It was clear he was out to take advantage of Jones’ ball security issues. He had a couple of more tackles to get the Jets off the field. With the team’s linebacker position in shambles due to injury, Adams helped carry the playmaking load near the line of scrimmage.Foley Fatukasi: His play has been strong in recent weeks, and this was another step forward. The Jets’ defensive line dominated the line of scrimmage in general Marcus Maye Jerseys 2019 , and he chipped in a tackle for a loss.Nathan Shepherd: The fan base has not had much good to say about Shepherd. He was an older prospect when the Jets picked him in the third round last year. An unremarkable rookie year followed by a suspension this year made it seem like his time with the team could be short. Shepherd responded in this game with a sack and 3 tackles for a loss. He would have had a second sack if not for a penalty.Jordan Jenkins: Jenkins contributed a pair of sacks in this game. He took advantage of the injuries on the Giants offensive line. He is turning himself into a steady role player.Sam Darnold: This was a really solid game out of Darnold. He figured out how to straddle the line between aggressive and reckless. There were no boneheaded decisions in this game. He moved within the pocket well. He was also accurate when given time and not rattled when pressured. This was the kind of performance he needed. In the context of how little he has to work with, this was a really good outing.Adam Gase: I thought this was the best game Gase called all season, an admittedly low bar. I know it’s easy to say that coaching looks better when the players perform better, but I noticed some new concepts that made Darnold’s job easier. This doesn’t change anything about the long-term, but good job today.Jamison Crowder: The Darnold-Crowder connection was effective again today. Crowder had 5 catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.Demaryius Thomas: He was up and down and left a few plays on the field, but he ultimately chipped in 6 catches for 84 yards. The BadNate Hairston: This game was a horror show for Hairston. The Giants clearly focused on attacking him in their game plan. He was routinely burned and penalized multiple times. An ugly touchdown allowed led to his benching.Offensive Line: At this point there’s really nothing I can say other than these guys can’t block anybody. The running backs averaged around 2 yards per carry because no holes were opened, and pass protection looked spotty for long stretches of this game.Robby Anderson: He was held to a single catch and failed to come down with a couple of key contested balls.Brian Poole: Poole has been steady all year, but he was beaten for a touchdown by Golden Tate in this one....................................The Jets head to Washington next weekend looking for their first winning streak in over a calendar year.
